Anything without maintenance would not last long. This is just a basic fact and those who understand it know the true importance. As maintenance is a must for everything it is also true in case of your garden. Your garden is a very important part of your home and where you are keeping the inside of your home clean, your garden must be in a tip-top shape so that the people who are coming to your home or your real estate agent or an appraiser who are visiting your house to assess the value can add to the value of your house by seeing a well maintained garden.
Planting out a garden is a science in itself and needs a detailed planning as to how things should proceed. When you are done with planting the garden, which is a detailed discussion in itself, now you have to run through the proper maintenance procedures so as to ensure that the plants are healthy and are free from any damages. Regarding maintenance, the first and the foremost thing is the external environment around the garden that is having a strong impact on its health. For example, if there are any rotten vegetables or fruits lying around in the garden then that would cause insects to come over.
This would then result in the damage of the plants around the rotten vegetables or fruits and in turn would jeopardize the health of the entire garden. Another very important thing that one should care for while maintaining their garden is weed. Weed can become a true killer of your garden. Now you must be thinking as to how it is possible. The fact of the matter is that it would grow and share all the nutrients of your plants, which can cause them to die or go dry with the passage of time. Therefore it is really important that you just clear your garden from weed by keeping a close eye.
Another important thing that you would need to do is to clean all the cut out branches and fallen leaves from the garden as it appears like a mess lying all around and just look very untidy. So whenever you trim the branches or plant the plants, you must clean the garden and do not procrastinate. I can understand that we all are going through a hectic routine and things are difficult to maintain at a constant pace, but since this garden is a jewel of your property, you must care for it as the care it deserves.
Let us deviate a little from our topic, I want to share an idea, which is when you are planting your garden, you make a complete map of your garden in which you will write down as to what plants you are planting in different locations so that you have a hands-on knowledge about the different plants, which you can share with your friends and neighbors who ask you different questions regarding that or are interested to have a garden the same as yours. Your garden when kept clean will tell everyone around you of your personality and to the kind of person you are, so do invest your time in keeping it clean and tidy.

Gardening is an art and there are a lot of reasons that you should start gardening not only to beautify your home but also to create a heaven for your family. Once you will start gardening you will know that there are a lot of things that you will need to start out with. But what is mostly not shared is that there are different things that are present in your home that can be used to help you with your gardening. First of all while you are gardening you must know that weeds can cause a lot of damage to your gardens and this can be prevented by laying OLD CARPETS OR RUGS that you have in your home.
When you are planting vegetables, you can lay down rugs during the autumn season over your vegetable plots which will prevent the weeds grow in that area, which will share a lot of the soil and water resources that you want specifically for your vegetables to grow in a very healthy environment. Along with that there are a lot of TRAYS that can be used for planting the seeds. It should be noted here that these trays should not be more than 15 cm deep and then you should make holes at the bottom of the tray. Add some gravel at the base of the tray and then fill it with compost. You should paint the trays and or containers that you have for gardening purposes to make them look beautiful.
Apart from trays, you can use YOGHURT POTS to plant the seeds as well. In these pots you can make a hole at the bottom and add gravel to the base and place compost over it so that you can plant seeds. It would be a nice thought that you ask your kids to work with you and ask them to paint the pots, containers and trays, and they can also paint the names for their trays in which they plant seed and can follow up with cleaning and caring for their plants and it will be a very good learning for them as to how to care for things that they are attached with.
Another thing that you can use to plant seeds in are GLASS JARS that must be in ample quantity at home. You can clean and dry them and they can be used to store the seeds and while you are storing seeds in them, you can paste a sticker on it to write as to what are the types of seeds you are storing in them, which will help you to keep things in an organized way and let you have a quick grab on them whenever you need it. For this, you can also ask your kids to paint the jars, which will be a very good activity for them and will keep them busy for a good while and definitely will establish a great deal of their interest in gardening.
Another interesting thing that you will like to add to your garden is a scare crow and for that matter you can have the tops of the bottles from milk or juice bottles, which can be glued to the scare crow. This will be very exciting for the kids to have a scare crow in their garden knowing that it is protecting their plants from the birds. You can also come up with any creative thoughts to help you with redesigning your garden, which again can be a very good family activity.

A lot of us mention that our house is not being valued as it should be and they are not getting the right market price. Well, before we jump on to any conclusions, we need to see as to what are the factors that the house is being priced lower than what was expected. There can be a lot of factors and one of the major things that can truly enhance the price of your house is that it is not as beautified on the outside in terms of a garden. A lot of people just do not know this one basic simple fact that a garden can give a good boost to your property value.
A very good way to confirm this fact would be to talk with your real estate agent. They are the right people who know as to what is going on in the day to day property scenarios. A woman just had a boost of about $10,000 to her home value just by being an owner of a beautiful garden right outside her home. This is not one story but a lot of other people know that by having a beautiful and a well maintained garden outside their home is going to have an excellent impact on their property value. There is another professional advice for people out there from real estate agents is to invest in landscaping as it will bring them excellent bargains at high prices.
If you are truly interested in giving a boost to the value of your home, then you need to thinking seriously about landscaping. Landscaping is an art, it is a science in its own. It includes the garden, shaping up the out of house terrain by fencing, adding structures such as sculptures, lighting the boundaries, etc. It is being recommended by the American Society of Landscape Architects to invest at least about 10% of the home value in landscaping. A trend that is growing very rapidly these days is to add outdoor rooms, swimming pools, log benches to sit, pools, etc.
Now if you are thinking about landscaping and want to really invest in that then the first thing that you need to do is that you can hire a landscape architect who can assess and professionally design for you. It would be best that before you hire a landscape architect you try to run some checks as for how long they have been in the business and try to see the work that they have done so far either through pictures or by visiting the place in real to see how it all looks through your own eyes. All this is going to help you decide as to what professional you are going to hire.
It is a fact that after you are done with landscaping, your house will take a very different look and will definitely give a boost to its value. So do not hesitate to spend the money that will be a true reflector of your taste and style and will be an excellent investment that you will do.
